Internet business model
With peoplefone this is already possible today thanks to our internet business model. We use the internet to reduce call access charges as well as to manage our customer relationships. We lease carrier grade infrastructure from Colt and use state of the art Linux server solutions.
The big 3 fixnet providers no longer provide good value
The Swiss fixnet market has become boring due to the absense of real competition. The aggressive challengers of the past have grown big and have long sought to avoid the large revenue losses entailed from lowering their standard prices. Swisscom and sunrise, for example, last reduced its standard rate to Germany fixnet in 2000! Instead, to get better prices, customers of the „big 3“ (Swisscom, Cablecom, Sunrise) must typically sign minimum duration contracts and/ or pay monthly fees in order to get some form of discount at certain times of the day on some call types.
